COPS ALLEGE BOY
KILLED MAN OVER A CUPCAKE NEW YORK--
A 15-year-old Brooklyn boy allegedly killed a man, then stole $2 in change and bought a cupcake and a drink, police said yesterday. DeShon Ellis was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon yesterday, said Sgt. Michael Cafarella of the 73rd Precinct Detective Squad. Ellis is accused of shooting Vitaly Bereslavskiy, 50, once in the chest at a Laundromat in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn on Jan. 19. After the shooting, Ellis took $2 in change-either from the victim or from the counter-and fled, Cafarella said. "He bought a cupcake and a drink afterward," Cafarella said. Ellis was arrested after a teenage girl in the neighborhood asked to speak to a youth services officer, Carafella said. Carafella said Ellis showed little remorse as he talked to officers about the incident. |
