PLAINFIELD WOMAN GETS HEAD PINNED BY FORKLIFT FRANKLIN:

A Plainfield woman was found early Saturday morning with her head pinned between a forklift and a steel beam, police said.

Police were called to Community Distributors on Cottaintail Lane about 6:30 a.m. for a report that a forklift operator was severely injured.

Blanca Mejia, 22, of Plainfield, was found with her head pinned between a forklift that police think she was operating.

Workers were able to free her before police and rescue personnel got to the building. A nursing supervisor at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick said yesterday that Mejia was listed in critical condition.
