Bizarre News - Viva Las Vegas!
Collar bozos in sing-&-run

Crystal, Minn. - October 13, 2004

At least they can do a nice duet of "Jailhouse Rock."

That's after a bizarre string of events in which an Elvis impersonator allegedly faked a seizure at a VFW post while a man dressed as a Blues Brother stole a car and led cops on a high-speed chase, police said.

"It's one of those things that you stop and scratch your head and you think, 'Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing?' said Police Capt. Dave Oyaas.

When cops answered a call at the VFW on Monday morning, they found the man in an Elvis suit apparently in convulsions. But as they approach, he leaped up, yelled, "Viva Las Vegas!" and started singing show tunes.

Then two women said a man dressed as John Belushi's Joliet Jake in "The Blues Brothers" stole their car and sped to an airport. Cops chased him down.

There's at least a partial explanation for the behavior: The men had been drinking. "I would venture to say, quite a bit," Oyaas said.
